Fuel and Other Liquids Gasoline is sold by the Litre which is slightly more than an American
quart. 1 American gallon is 3.8 Litres. Therefore 10 gallons of gas is 38
Litres. Milk, pop bottles, water, etc. are sold in Litres. Small quantities of
liquid like a can of pop or a cup of coffee are sold in millilitres. Therefore a 12
oz can of pop is 355 ml.
Weight
Weight is measured in kilograms. 1 pound is less than 1/2 a kilogram.
Area Land is measured in acres, sections and hectares (ha). A section
is 640 acres. A hectare is 2.5 acres. To convert from acres to hectares: acre
x .4 = ha.
Temperature
Temperature is measured in Celsius with zero being the freezing point of water and 100
being the boiling point of water. To convert from Fahrenheit to Celsius: (F-32) x 5/9 = C.
To convert from Celsius to Fahrenheit: (C x 1.8) + 32 = F.
