Since winter lasts eight months in Whitehorse, there
are many winter activities: skiing, snowboarding, skating and dogsledding. The yukon
Quest, the most famous dog sled race in Canada, reputed to be the most challenging in the
world, sets out alternately from Whitehorse to Fairbanks, and then Fairbanks to Whitehorse
each year. The starting line is right downtown.
