Pointe Claire located immediately west of Dorval is a large and diverse
West Island community offering a large variety of interesting place;
fashionable homes are found on the Lakeshore.
The residential zone of Pointe Claire is located on both sides of highway
20 and includes many lakefront properties. Housing is mainly single family
but includes some apartments, townhouses and condominium units.
Old Pointe Claire village is home to many picturesque boutiques and
historic houses. Stewart Hall, the cultural centre, is a symbol of the
region. The library comprises three branches. Moreover, Pointe Claire has
earned a national reputation for its competitive sports programs,
especially in swimming and diving. The borough also includes a private 18
hole golf club ,marinas and the Lakeshore General Hospital.
Centre Firview Pointe Claire, the largest commercial complex on the West
Island, with 200 stores and restaurants is located in Pointe Claire. Along
the Trans Canada Highway, an important industrial district is home for
high-tech industries. |
