oldest incorporated city and has maintained much of the history and charm of yesteryear.
Saint John is the home of the natural phenomenon, reversing falls, and the famous Bay of
Fundy tides, which are the highest in the world. The downtown area consists of an indoor
walkway which connects to the city library, Hilton Hotel, Delta Hotel, City Market,
Brunswick Square, Trade & Convention Center and Harbour Station, which is home to various night spots and
restaurants. The Imperial Theatre for Performing Arts opened in 1994 and has been restored
to its original 1913 splendor. There are several arenas, an aquatic center, a university
and a community college. Saint John was rated the #2 place in the
world to retire based on the cost of quality of life. |
